“Participation, that's what’s gonna save the human race.”
Folk Fights Back is a musician led organization that seeks to raise awareness for critical issues in today’s political climate and fund organizations actively fighting for social and political change through fundraiser concerts.
Our goals are to create concerts with an environment that inclusively represents musicians of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and income levels while raising money for a local non-profit doing active and important work in relations to the specific cause being supported.
Over $4,100 raised for organizations actively fighting for the environment in court.
Over $12,000 raised for organizations supporting and fighting for immigrant and refugee rights.
Over $5,000 raised for organizations fighting to protect the rights of women.
Folk Fights Back was founded by musicians Rachel Baiman, Lily Henley, and Kaitlyn Raitz after the 2016 presidential election in an effort to give musicians a platform to channel their energy and talents for good. They plan to continue Folk Fights Back concerts regularly regardless of political outcomes because no matter who is in charge, there is always work to be done.
